How we earn money today
Premium subscriptions. Listeners pay a monthly or annual fee for the Premium version of The PM Podcast, sold through Supercast, Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Each of those platforms keeps a share of what you pay.
Our own courses. We create and sell online project management training courses. When we mention them on the podcast or link to them from this website, we earn money if you enroll. These are our own courses, not someone else's that we're promoting for a cut.
Advertising on YouTube and Spotify. When you watch or listen on YouTube or Spotify, those platforms may insert their own ads, and we receive a share of that revenue. We don't choose these advertisers, we don't endorse them, and we have no control over what you're shown.
That's the list.
How we used to earn money
You'll still find traces of this around the site and in older episodes.
Banner advertising. We used to sell banner space to other companies. We no longer do. Some old banners are still on the site, and where we've updated them they now point to our own courses.
In-show sponsorships. We used to sell sponsor reads inside episodes. Those are baked into old recordings and earn us nothing today.
Affiliate links. We joined affiliate programs for various project management tools and for Amazon books. We stopped adding new affiliate links in May 2019 and have been replacing older ones ever since.
About those Amazon links
One or two old Amazon affiliate links are almost certainly still hiding in more than 550 episodes' worth of show notes. We know because Amazon still pays us: 35 cents in 2025, and 25 cents so far in 2026.
We'd rather be transparent about sixty cents than pretend it isn't there. If you click an old book link and buy something, we may earn a few pennies. We're still hunting the last ones down.
Why this page exists
Because you should know when someone recommending something has a financial interest in it. On this podcast, that means our Premium subscription and our own courses. Ads inserted by YouTube and Spotify are their choice, not ours. Everything else is either history or loose change.
