The Short Version
We collect very little. We don't sell anything about you, we don't track you across the internet, and we don't use advertising cookies. What follows is the detail, in plain English.

1. Who we are
The Project Management Podcast is published by Cornelius Fichtner, in Arizona, USA. In this notice, "we," "us," and "our" mean Cornelius Fichtner.

2. Visiting this website
Our website is delivered through Cloudflare, which sits in front of our web server to route traffic, block attacks, and speed up delivery. To do that, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request information for every page you load. This is standard for websites and necessary to operate the site securely. Our legal basis is legitimate interest.
Our web host also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses and the pages requested, for a limited period.
3. Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used overall. It tells us how many people visited, which pages are popular, and roughly which countries visitors come from.
It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Visitor counts are worked out from an anonymous, temporary value that is discarded, so we cannot identify you, follow you between visits, or track you to any other website.
We look at these numbers in aggregate. We have no interest in what any individual does on our site, and no way to find out.
4. Listening to the podcast
Our episodes are hosted and delivered by Libsyn. When you download or stream an episode, in any podcast app, Libsyn records the IP address and app or device type of the request. This is how podcast download statistics work throughout the industry, and it happens whether you find us through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or anywhere else.
We use this to see how many downloads an episode received. We cannot connect a download to a named person, and we don't try to.
Libsyn processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy policy.
5. Our newsletter
You can sign up for our email newsletter. It's entirely voluntary, and we only send to people who asked for it.
Our newsletter is operated by AWeber, which stores your email address and any name you provided. We don't keep a copy on our own website.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, your record is removed promptly. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
6. Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to answer you, and we keep the correspondence indefinitely as a record of our support history. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
7. Premium subscriptions
Our Premium subscription is sold through three third parties: Supercast, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify.
Each of them handles the signup, the payment, and your account. Each has its own privacy notice, which governs what they collect and how they use it. We never see your payment details. Please read their notices before you subscribe.
8. Cookies and embedded content
We use very few cookies:
- Session cookie. Our website software sets a standard session cookie so the site works correctly.
- Popup cookie. If you close one of our popup boxes, a small cookie remembers that so we don't show it to you again. It holds no personal information, no IP address, and no identifier.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Some of our pages embed players and content from YouTube and Spotify. When a page containing an embed loads, those companies may set their own cookies and receive your IP address, under their own privacy policies. We don't control what they collect.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to processing, or to withdraw consent.
We want to be straightforward about what we can and cannot do:
We can help with: your newsletter subscription and any email correspondence with us. We can look these up, tell you what we hold, send you a copy, or delete them. Email
We cannot help with: our website analytics or podcast download statistics. We have no way to link that data to you as a person, and data protection law does not require us to collect additional information about you purely in order to find you in it. To limit what those systems see, you can use your browser's privacy settings or a VPN.
Premium subscriptions: contact Supercast, Apple, or Spotify directly, since they hold that data, not us.
If you're in the EU or the UK and you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
10. How long we keep things
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, then removed promptly.
- Email correspondence: kept indefinitely, unless you ask us to delete it.
- Analytics: retained by Cloudflare for a limited period. It contains nothing that identifies you.
- Server logs: kept briefly by our web host for security and troubleshooting.
- Podcast download data: retained by Libsyn under its own policy.
11. Where your data goes
We're based in the United States, and our service providers operate internationally. If you're in the EU or the UK, this means your data may be processed outside your country. Our providers maintain their own safeguards for international transfers.
12. Children
This website and podcast are intended for working professionals. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we'll delete it.
13. Automated decisions
We don't use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
14. If something goes wrong
If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal data we hold, we'll investigate promptly and notify affected individuals and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.
15. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when we last did.
